Component speakers in a 1G, anyone?

I was installing these into my DSM today, well one side is maybe 50-60% done, but i was wondering where people usually mount the crossover unit.

I was also wondering where people mounted the tweeters.

Thanks
Aaron

Tweeters in the stock location in the dash?

I'm thinking about doing it on the door on the part that is slightly angled to the seat.

Also I'm looking for the speaker cups out of a '93-'94 as those are the years that have an actual 6.5" speaker.

Horrible location, I got rid of those right away. I have my tweeters mounted straight up from the mids in the doors, flush. Looks factory, sounds awesome.

I'd take pics Brownman, but the car is up in Ramsey.

You can buy universal foam ones that mount right behind the speaker. I dynamatted my doors instead and built custom speaker mounts for the mids.

I like to put them in the corner of the dash where it meets the windshield. They fit in the corner well and aim at you, but aren't off to one side too bad, this keeps the balance from side to side good. It also lets the sound spread out and fill the front more. I did put speakers in the stock dash location, but turned the gain way down on them just for a little more fill and to raise the sound stage up a bit because it bounces off the windshield. I don't have components in the talon, but did this in my sound competition starion and it sounded great, same layout. Two 10's and a 15" sub in the back was fun too :P
