Evo X ECU disassembly
So the openport cable that you use to connect your laptop to the evo X is not complete yet but someone in europe got a copy of their ROM somehow. They took it upon themselves to leak it to the community sometime Friday night, and uh, it's pretty well disassembled already! :D :D :D
Items of note: multiple mivec maps (intake and exhaust cam) 3d boost tables (tps vs pressure) boost based on bar (i.e. pressure, not load!) LOTS more room for ecu hacks in this rom :) It is truly amazing how quickly a global community of enthusiasts can crank through something like this. 3d boost(target is in bar, 1bar =14.5psi): http://www.norcalmotorsports.org/use...et_tps_bar.gif intake Mivec: http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...drpmoffset.jpg exhaust mivec: http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...evomivecex.jpg Timing: http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...loadoffset.jpg Fuel: http://i290.photobucket.com/albums/l...loadoffset.jpg Link to one of the theads: http://forums.evolutionm.net/showthread.php?t=350093 and http://forums.openecu.org/viewtopic.php?p=18064#18064 |

Re: Evo X ECU disassembly
Having the rom hacking guys around is one of my favorite things about having an evo

Re: Evo X ECU disassembly
Now we just have to wait for the cable to come out and then for them to figure out how to read/write to the ECU. Finding maps in a ROM isn't the hardest thing ever. There is graphical hexediting software to help you find patterns that stick out(maps) unlike code which normally just looks like random static.

Re: Evo X ECU disassembly
Yes, but having this out of the way for when the CAN interface becomes available will really speed up the process. This is a EUDM rom, so it is a sure bet the USDM one(s) will be slightly different. But figuring out all the scaling and oem algorithms is something that could take a while, especially if/when tephra-like mods like NLTS and map switching start to become a reality.
I guess they're having some issues with the disassembly codec, it is not a standard one that they can find. Tactrix cable is gonna be out soon, and then reading/writing the rom from there won't be far off. I bet you will be doing evo X tunes by July, shane....and they will be ho-hum for you come September. |
Re: Evo X ECU disassembly
Has there been any discussion regarding if/how well Mitsu is following SAE J1939?

Re: Evo X ECU disassembly
I'm guessing the EUDM code is healthier than the USDM code will be, so simply cutting and pasting that code will probably reap some benefit.
