no start 1g
Bought a 93 laser with bent valves. So I replaced the head. I have spark, fuel, compression 150 all the way across and timing is dead on. I just replaced the ecu as well.
I got the car running 4 days ago and it ran for about 5 seconds then slowly idled down and killed and it would do it over and over. when I went to try to start it this morning it won't start at all. still has fuel, spark compression and timing is still dead on.. Someone please help me!!! i got a case of beer for the first person to come figure it out :) |
Re: no start 1g
is the coolant temp sensor unplugged or broken?
|
Re: no start 1g
plug is broken but i have it wired up to the sensor
|
Re: no start 1g
if that connection isn't great the car wont start
|
Re: no start 1g
ok i will go recheck it now
|
Re: no start 1g
Agree'd check that connection. Also check the CAS plug, and ensure the CAS itself is installed correctly (not 180* out).

Re: no start 1g
the one connection seemed a little loose so i crimped it down more and it attempted to fire.. but still nothing

Other thoughts:
Massive vacuum leak Verify all 4 plugs are sparking (maybe you have a bad coil, only running on 2 cylinders) Base ignition timing (center the CAS in the slotted holes to start with) BISS screw improperly adjusted MAS bad or unplugged Do you have a logger, or link, to look at some of these signals? |

im buying a logger today hopefully and there is spark on all 4.. i will check the others |
Re: no start 1g
Ive started my car, both with a bad ECT sensor and a maf that is unplugged. Make sure to check for a bad and weak coil pack as well. You said you verified spark? And how do you know youre getting fuel? Pulled the plugs and smelled them or lf they are wet? Check youre fancy relay under the the radio as well. Ive ran in just about every no start condition there is on these darn things...sometimes its really simple other times it could be intermittent...also I did not hear you mention you checked your main block fuses check those as well.

Re: no start 1g
So i got the car running and drove it a couple times around the block. Let it sit for a couple days cause i have been busy with work, and now it wont start again. Has fuel spark compression and timing is on..... Any other suggestions ?
