E85 - new sign on pumps say "min 51%"

The winter blend has been around 70% and the old signs displayed on the fuel pumps said a minimum of 70%. Does anyone know if the winter blend is planned to be lower now? Kind of sucks if it is. I've had the same tune for 4+ years....I guess I can install my ethanol content sensor that I had laying around.

I noticed that the other day too. But haven't heard about any changes. Depending on the the price I might run it in my my Tahoe a lot more now. Gas mileage is barely effected when it's it's on the winter blend.

I've noticed its only at a few stations as some by me still have the "Minimum 70%" sticker and every time i've tested it this summer its been around 70% at all locations. However I have noticed the places that carry the "minimum 70%" are almost always cheaper than the places that "minimum 51%" is carried at...

So I just tested the pump on Friday night at the Kwik Trip off of Hadley and Highway 5. It had the minimum %50 sticker but I got %70 in my test, but a friend of mine filled up at the SA on Century/120 and I normally fill up there as the sticker says minimum %70 but he got far less than %70 it seems and also the tank before last from there was less than stellar for performance though I didn't test as I should have.

I really want a blender pump so you can tell it exactly what % to put in. If I had one nearby, I'd consistently do 40-50% or something, enough for extra octane, but not enough to max out my 60# injectors. Want a safe 20psi tune.

The Minnoco stations that have been popping up around here are like that. You can get Regular/Premium/E15/E30/E50/E85

I'll be checking out the Little Canada station tomorrow and making sure I can get the stated e85 option. If so, I'll buy a LOT haha.

I have a zeitronix ethanol content analyzer in my Evo and I've consistently found that Holiday stations have always the highest content. Kwik Trips and BPs have been the worst as well as Kum and Go's in Iowa (when I've traveled down there)

Holiday Averages:

Spring/Summer - E75-E83
Winter/Fall - E66-E70

Kwik Trip/BP/Kum and Go:

Spring/Summer - E70-E75
Fall/Winter - E60-E63

Obviously I'm just one guy so its not a huge sample serving but its been enough to sway me one direction if I can help it.

I'm now switching to e85 by the barrel through special order when I finish changing shells. Having trouble finding a supplier for less than $14ish/gallon though. My 112 Sunoco was cheaper than that.

co rd 9 and hwy 55 the holiday just up min 51% stickers on the pump handles. sucks because they put in new tanks for e85 and were super close

That is a complete ripoff. Wholesale value for E98 right now is ~$1.60/gal. Add in some freight, the cost to barrel it, plenty of profit, and it should still be well under $3/gal.

This is not regarding e85, but I figured it was still relevant to this thread. Are all the BP stations in the cities switching over to Sinclair? Both BP's up here are and it kind of sucks since there's only two of them.

I wouldn't be too worried about weaker blends just yet. The letter of the law has been 51% for at least a few years, now the stickers just match. Could be as simple as that. I found an old post where this was touched on, back in 2012 (the standard of 51% is at least that old):
