AEM EMS sensors?
To run AEM EMS on my car Ive read a bit and came up with these sensors I will need...
GM 3Bar MAP sensor GM Air Intake Temp Sensor GM Boost Control Solenoid Is there any other sensors I need? |
Re: AEM EMS sensors?
The GM boost control solenoid is optional. I've read that the EMS boost control function is tough to get right, but I don't run it, so I can't say for sure. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Re: AEM EMS sensors?
Shane will be setting mine up, but That's the list I'm running. You really don't need anything else, and that boost control solenoid is basically a cheaper elec. boost controller.

Re: AEM EMS sensors?
If you want to run over 29psi, you will want to go with the AEM 5 bar map sensor. AEM makes a AIT kit also that comes with the pigtail for the ATI sensor.

Re: AEM EMS sensors?
Now for the boost control solenoid what do you hook that up to? Ive searched a bit and noone really says. Ive already got the IAT and MAP sensor figured out.
Thanks, Mike |
Re: AEM EMS sensors?
You re-wire it to plug into the stock boost control solenoid plug, that NO ONE ever has on their cars.

Re: AEM EMS sensors?
Sweet thanks swifty! I figured that was it. Now Time for another question...
I was trying to find the answer to this question and stumbled arcross this... http://forum.aempower.com/forum/index.php?topic=2497.0 In the second post the guy talks about "blocking" and "Bleeding". What do you guys think is better? |
Re: AEM EMS sensors?
I didn't really read it, but I believe the way you put in an MBC is the "block" method. That's the way I'd assume the GM solenoid goes in, as this is also the way the stock boost solenoid is installed (correct me if I'm wrong).

Re: AEM EMS sensors?
The MBC is a "block". But the GM solenoid has 3 nipples and it can be ran either way.
