Can anyone tell me what this is?
2 Attachment(s)
Hey when i pulled off the tranny this part fell out, Im not sure what it is or where it goes. A couple ideas i thought it may have been was somewhere off of the clutch.
Please Help asap. |
Re: Can anyone tell me what this is?
Looks kinda like the pin for the flywheel thats on the crank.
|
Re: Can anyone tell me what this is?
yeah i just looked at ACTs site and thats what it looks like.
What do these pins do? Would it cause my clutch to not fully disengage? |
Re: Can anyone tell me what this is?
You sure thats not an alignment pin for the tranny to block?
|
Re: Can anyone tell me what this is?
The pin from tranny to block are hollow because a bolt goes through it. Its either the alignment for the clutch PP to flywheel or flywheel to crank.

Re: Can anyone tell me what this is?
This really sucks because I just put in the tranny completely and realised that im having the same problem as before i broke the tranny. Where the clutch will not fully disengage. SO if i put it on jack stands and start the car and put it in gear it goes fine but if i push in the clutch and tap the break it makes a loud squeeling and then dies. so i think i may have to take out the tranny once again :( and see whats going on with the clutch now. FUCK ME i am hating life, that tranny was a bitch to put in and now i gotta do it all over again.

Re: Can anyone tell me what this is?
First thing I thought of was it's the spider gear shaft in the differential, especially since it's all beat to hell.
|
Re: Can anyone tell me what this is?
I swear the spider gear shaft is WAY smaller then that. The problem you could be having is a non adjusted clutch pedal. Maybe get an extended slave cylinder rod(which I happen to be selling).
|
Re: Can anyone tell me what this is?
Looks like one of the dowel pins on the flywheel that lines up the pressure plate.
|
Re: Can anyone tell me what this is?
i dont think the extended slave cyl rod will do much good. it seems to be pushing the fork just fine. its something in the clutch. I have the master cyl adjustment all the way out. and i bled the clutch fluid completly.

Re: Can anyone tell me what this is?
I just had a clutch disengagement problem as well. New Master Cylinder cleared that problem right up. I had my old rod adjusted all the way out, and it was still not fully disengaging, making it real hard to shift.
|
Re: Can anyone tell me what this is?
But the clutch cant disengage if the fork isnt moving far enough. Id say swap out the master cylinder and slave while your at it and see if that helps. Id say that this is not clutch related its most likely the master, slave or TOB.
|
Re: Can anyone tell me what this is?
Theres no fluid leaking from the master cylinder though or even the slave cylinder. Could it still be bad? It seems like the slave cylinder is pushing the fork all the way due to the fact that i cant push it any more. Ill try tonight to maybe put a spacer in that and see if it pushes it farther. Im so glad i didnt start taking out the tranny last night, if its this i will run around naked in the streets.
Do you really need the dowel pin in there? will it cause any problems nessesariy? |
Re: Can anyone tell me what this is?
Maybe I missed it, but what exactly is making you think the clutch isn't fully disengaging? My situation was, I could shift through the gears just fine with the car off. But when I turned the car on, it would sometimes grind (sitting still in neutral), and sometimes go in, sometimes not go in. Figured it was the clutch not fully disengaging. Couldn't adjust my rod any further, and saw some fluid leaking inside.

Re: Can anyone tell me what this is?
Ju-on read post #6.
There could be a inner leak or something causing it to not have all the pressure. I was missing the pin on the crank and they told me not to worry about it. |

It does sound like the clutch is just dragging. Are you sure you bled the system properly? |
