Best place to buy airfare?

I'm going to Arizona in January and am going to book a flight this week. I was wondering where others here have gone to find good deals on airfare. Prices seem to range anywhere from $214-$250 depending on dates and times (yet to be determined.)

I've tried Yahoo, Orbitz and Travelocity and the prices are mor or less the same for comparable flights. I went directly to NWA and the price was about $5 less. The Sun Country website was slightly higher.

Is there anywhere else I should be looking? I think these are pretty good prices for round trip airfare, but if by chance there is some place with even better prices, then I might go there instead.

Take me with you!!!

Cheaptickets.com might be another on to look at.

Also, are you doing the hotel thing? Might want to sign up at http://www.triprewards.com and see if you can reap some other benefits as well to save some more cash.

I've been watching for tickets to Phoenix in March, just in time for the Nopi/NDRA race down there. The best I've seen so far is $223/person, but it could dip a bit below that. BTW, after flying all the major carriers, Sun Country takes the best care of you for flights out of Minneapolis. I pretty much only fly with them now. NW sucks.

My buddy has a friend down there, so I have a place to stay, so I wont be doing the hotel but I will be getting a rental car (probably a Kia :D ). Cheaptickets.com seems to be right there with the rest of them, as far as price goes.

Phoenix is my destination too. We're probably going to the grand canyon and stuff as long as we're there. Thanks for the tip on Sun Country. For a 3.5 hour flight I will gladly spend a few extra bucks to get some good treatment.

Does anyone know if Eric Olsen is still down there? I should look him up.

Cheap Tickets is what I usually use but Mo (speedfreak) tossed this one up in the shoutbox last night and it looks like a good one:

I generally use either Expedia or Cheaptickets, but a lot of the times, I've found that the actual airlines' site has even cheaper tickets. Find the cheapest tickets you can using the travel sites, then cruise on over to that airline's website.

www.travelzoo.com

You put date you want to leave and return, then it goes through like 10 big name sites and finds the lowest fairs for you.

They all do that.

I price mine through Expedia but then buy them through the University.

The best one I have found is americanexpress.com, they have a travel section now and are much cheaper than any other site I have tried. We started using them at work. You don't need an AMEX card either.
