Harmonic Dampener pulley

Wondering what it costs for a new one. It's the pully that attaches to the crank shaft. The one that 2 belts go around. Thanks.

If there's a bulk (and by bulk I mean two...) discount, I might take one. I think mine might be going out on me. Not sure though...

I think they are $60-70 usually. Maybe a little more.

I have a p/s belt that will not stop squeeling. I have replaced the entire p/s pump, tried a million different tensions. I'm thinking now maybe this is the problem. But I really don't know. If the part is cheap enough, I'll give it a try.

wholly. OK well I suppose I'll make 100% sure that is my problem before buying it then. I figured if it was cheap, I'd just replace it. But that's a chunk of change. Thanks anywho man!

Have you tried any type of belt dressing?

Make sure it is your power steering belt. I had a similar problem and it tunedout to be my alternator belt. The only reason I found out that it was my alternator belt was when my lights go dim my SAFC would read 12 volts. I tighten up the alternator belt and fixed the issue.

Re: Harmonic Dampener pulley

Yeah, they can be trricky. I thought mine was PS, because it squealed when I turned the wheel hard, but it is the alternator belt.

Re: Harmonic Dampener pulley

So... I tightened the Alternator belt, problem is fixed!

You all might want to check your balancer on older cars anyways. The inner and outer sections will separate when the rubber wears out.

Good thought. This is what I was thinking my problem could have been, even though everything looked ok. Mine turned out to be a real loose alternator belt. I feel like an idiot, but hey it's just one of those things.
