ECU variances

I sold my eprom and got another ECU in replace of it in the deal. The car is acting a little funny. How can you tell if you have the wrong computer in the car? Like say a N/t or an auto ECU in a 5spd turbo?

Or the quality of the ECU with bad caps. How do you know when the caps are bad as far as functionallity goes? I know people that know what they are doing can just look at the board and see if the caps are leaky but I'd have no idea what to look for.

Any bit of help would be greatly appreciated.

Look at the underside of the capacitors, you will see the black goo. Or, just smell it. They smell like fish sticks, the smell is very distinct.

You could take the car to one of a dozen dynos in the Twin Cities and see if A/F and hp/trq check out, thats what they are marketed for mostly, road testing.
