There's a vfaq on it I believe. The kid that bought my '92 awd did that. I wasn't really a part of that process, but I talked to him like 6 months later, and he said he just got it running and did a auto to manual swap. I think it involves removing the steering column to get the pedal assembly out, as well as cutting out a hole for the master cylinder and getting all new lines and stuff. You also have to replace the center console. It involves sourcing alot of parts, and I'm sure it;s alot of work, but yes, it can be done.

According to the VFAQ it took him 8 hours to do it. I almost did this as last year I found a 91 AWD auto with 18k miles on it! Mark covered most everything you will need, tranny, shifter cables, pedal assembly, and clutch lines/cylinders.

Almost, you forgot the bottle of tylenol and case of beer

yeah i did that last year. it wasn't too bad. i would recommend you have a 5spd donor car, awd. because you will need the rear diff.

major parts is tranny (or whole 5spd motor for ease), shifter setup and cable and manual brake pedal setup and clutch fill bottle/resiovor/lines.

if your car have abs, i would recommend eliminating that. just use the front brake lines from your donor car, you don't need to swap out the rears.

of course i did this with the engine off.

good luck.
later.
