Rear Hatch Supports For Carbon Fiber Hatch?

I have a 96 Talon TSi AWD. My VIS carbon hood was looking a little aged after about 7 years so I decided to buy a new hood. When I was looking around I found a hood and hatch combo for $500 with about $200 shipping for the pair. I went ahead and purchased it for myself as a Christmas present.

I was in the process of getting the parts necessary to install it in the car, when I came across trying to find hatch supports that will not be too much for the light hatch. I am going to use the stock glass so that should make the hatch weigh a bit more, but it will still be quite a shave off of stock. I am hoping someone has an idea as to where to purchase the rear hatch supports that will apply the force needed to lift the light hatch.

If they are not commercially available, does anyone have an idea of how to modify the existing struts/supports to be weaker? If that is not a possibility, is there anyone with an idea (other than using prop) to keep the hatch open?

I was thinking about posting an ad online to find a set of really really worn out hatch supports to use, but I want to see if anyone knows of a place or has an innovative idea to input.

You won't need really worn out ones, the glass is the heaviest part of the hatch. Just some normally worn ones will probably work great. Or maybe just one new one, but the hatch will probably flex quite a bit.
