Video about the upcoming landing on Mars
I know there are some people here interested in science and space so I thought I'd share this.
The Phoenix Lander will be making touchdown on Mars at the north pole on May 25th. Here's a short video of what will be going on. Pretty good production for a NASA video. http://www.space.com/php/video/playe...anding&plugin= Basically, it takes 7 minutes for the craft to enter the atmosphere and reach the surface, but it takes over 10 minutes for radio signals to go between Mars and Earth. By the time NASA hears from the craft about its decent it will be over with, so the entire landing is all done automatically by onboard computers. Should be exciting. |
Re: Video about the upcoming landing on Mars
That is a pretty good video. I bet University of Arizona did the video or it is for Discovery or someone for an upcoming show. It will be cool to follow this landing.

Re: Video about the upcoming landing on Mars
Is there going to be any broadcasting of the landing? Would be interesting to watch it live, (or 10 minutes from live). Then see a nice little martian walk up to the camera and wave. :)

Re: Video about the upcoming landing on Mars
If you can get the NASA live feed on your TV I'm sure it will be on there, as well as on the NASA website.
