Pretty much all companies now require that little Security code on the back of the card. Doubt it will show that on the Invoice.
The company that he purchased from should have blocked out the cc number automatically.

It had the card number, exp date, AND the security code in plane sight.

If someone actually uses his credit card I would imagine the company who wrote the invoice would be liable for any charges. Law states that all the digits can not be printed on the customer copy invoice/receipt.
