stintered iron clutch disk
Just curious if a stintered iron clutch disk is a very bad idea for street driving? I know how it has very harsh engagement. The reason I ask is because tight now I am running a stintered iron un-sprung disk but I do have a 6 puck carbon semi-metallic disk that I could throw in it.

Re: stintered iron clutch disk
eh just drive on it. street driving requires slipping, which that clutch probably doesnt like to do. Might cause premature wear, but who cares.

Re: stintered iron clutch disk
Well if you already have the sintered iron disk in, do you think it is too bad to drive? The sprung disk will be much better. Is the current disk a puck disk?

Re: stintered iron clutch disk
Driving it is pretty harsh, pretty much and on and off switch. It really doesn't bother me I was just curious if running it for driving around town would cause any problems.
This is what i have in the car right now: http://www.cimotorsports.net/motor-s...20a-sd855.html And this is what i have sitting in my garage except mine is a 6 puck: http://www.cimotorsports.net/motor-s...20a-sd853.html |
Re: stintered iron clutch disk
I am guessing they are going to be pretty close. The spung hub will be easier to drive, but it is also a 6 puck, which will be harder to drive than the full disk.

Re: stintered iron clutch disk
I had a sintered disk once, pretty much had to take off hard all the time or it chattered bad. Worked good for launches though...
