1g DSMLink Main Board Install Help

Alright, I am trying to install the main board onto my eeprom ecu and the pins on the chip don't want to stay sitting in the socket all the way. Is this acceptable for the main board install? I would think not, but not matter what I do, it doesn't want to sit snugly in the socket. Anyone have any insight on what I should do?

Using just the 2 on top:

Did some searching around and found that my socket is a little bit different than the pictures ECMTuning has on their website. Here is a pic off of their site:

Is this apart of my problem? The ECU I have had a keydiver chip installed and that fit on their snug and pins look very similar between the chips.

Yea, you need the other socket. The one you have causes problems with DSMLink.

Do you guys do socketing at DB that could switch out the type?

I don't really like to do it unless it's an emergency. I usually have Handcommand or Audi Jordan do it. They are really good at it. I have plenty of ECUs in done by other shops and people who think they can socket ECUs that were junk or has intermitant problems.

Do you know how I can get ahold of one of them for them to swap out the sockets?

For anyone looking for socketing (or just the socket itself) I have 9 of the DSM link recommended sockets.

Ryan did an awesome job on the socketing on my ECU, I would recommend him to anyone needing it done. Thanks again!

I'm going to check out my ECU and see if I have that odd socket too, might need to have him socket mine with a new one as well.

Glad to see you were able to get it done local!

So right now I have a Keydiver chip installed and plan on going ECMlink. Are you saying that the socket will need to be changed out with a different one that fits better for the link chip?

From what I have been told and what I've read, the second socket type I posted is what DSMLink recommends (requires is more like it). After I got the new socket put on, the dsmlink board snapped in perfectly and was on there very tight. The other socket type I had on there would not allow the DSMLink board to stay on there at all. Just make sure you have the 2nd socket type on your ECU or else just have Ryan swap them out for ya when you have your ECMLink setup ready to throw on.

Btw, DSMLink/ECMLink > SAFC2 x10000
