Project Spyder 2009 Build
So I have been working on the Spyder again since I had issues with the motor smoking last fall under deceleration. Well I pulled the motor and switched it up a little bit. I tore the motor down to bare block again and sent it over to Motors By Gosh (Great Guy and THANKS!) to have it punched over 20, resurfaced, and all of the other goodies he does.
Freshly painted and machined block. The new 2.3 http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DSCN0538.JPG I then found a new crank, rods, and pistons so a little bit of clearancing of the block was needed. http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DSCN0539.JPG http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DSCN0540.JPG http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DSCN0541.JPG http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DSCN0542.JPG http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DSCN0544.JPG That was all that was needed for clearancing and then the crank went in. http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DSCN0543.JPG http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DSCN0545.JPG I ground the rings to spec and installed the rods and pistons. http://www.mitsustyle.com/photopost/...m/DSCN0583.JPG More to come. |
Re: Project Spyder 2009 Build
Tonight I installed the head with a Perma Torque and A-1 head studs. I also got the water pump installed. I am just waiting for gaskets to show up to put on the other parts now.

Hey Kerry on the Ebay o2 housing you have, is it 2.5" or 3" outlet? I was looking at that but the guy never answered my question.
