1990 gsx cannot get into 1st or 2nd gear
 

I was driving my gsx today and i stopped it wouldnt go into 1st to take off well it went into 2nd and i was able to take off.
well now it wont go into 1st or 2nd gear to take off, but if i get it rolling in reverse or 3rd itll go into 1st but its like its barely going in, 2nd doesnt exist any more it just grinds if i try to up shift or down shift into it.

The slave is moving the required distance, 3rd 4th 5th and Reverse all work well, i adjusted the cables and if you remove the cables from the selectors on the trans you cannot put it into 1st or 2nd using the selectors it is like something is binding it feels the same way if you move the shifter with the linkage hooked up its like something is blocking it.

so idk if theres any tranny gurus out there idk what it could be, bent shift fork possibly in the trans? im at a loss

possibly cyncros? Also could be a bad clutch disc...

First thing to check is that your clutch is releasing all the way... If your stopped, find a gear it will go in, push the clutch in, go to put it in gear, if you go back to neutral and then put it back in that gear, it should be right there, shouldn't feel the syncro's have to work to stop the tranny shafts again. If thats ok, you might have moved the shift cable bracket that holds the cables mounted on the tranny, also the shift linkage is adjustable inside the car also, which can help.

The clutch is disengaging fully and it is not the linkage I can't even put it in directly at the trans I bought another trans so ill diagnose the issue once I get it apart

Really sounds like a broken shift fork.
