starter troubles!!!!

im tryin to hook my starter up on my 1g. i cant get it to do anything. i hook it to one side and it has constent power. hook it to the other it does nothing. i got my ground inbetween the bell housing and starter. so my questions are.
what side does the power go onto the solinoed?
would there be a relay that be stuck open?
i need advise im gettin angry!!! ive bypassed the clutch safety switch and still doesnt change the results.
i took the motor out to do a clutch and bs eliminator. also did a miny wire tuck so i might have forgot how it goes. so pictures and steps would be amazing!!

Re: starter troubles!!!!

The starter should always have power (direct from battery) and ground, and it's triggered on with a little switch. Maybe it's a bad on/off trigger, should plug right into the starter.

the starter is always spinning. if i hook up the battery with the key in my pocket. it spins, but doesnt engage. it sounds like a blow dryer. ive tryed 2 different starter wiring harnesses. does the hot side go closest to the block or firewall?

Check your wiring, Are you sure that everything is correct after your wire tuck?

Re: starter troubles!!!!

check to make sure the remote wire is correct. Otherwise i would say take out the starter and have it checked. Could possibly be that the engagement mechanism (peice the pushes the starter gear up is busted. Or could possibly be that its a bad positive, make sure its got 12v.
