My new Daily Driver, pimpin' dem hoez.

Picked this up for the time being as a new driver, it's a 2001 DTS with 197k miles, but you wouldn't know it. Every possible option, with Bose stereo, Night Vision, full center console, electric steering wheel tilt/telescopic, front/rear heated seats, memory seats, 17" wheels, OnStar, steering wheel controls, and all that other great jazz.

These pics were taken off of Red Wing Chevrolet's site(Where I bought it from)

And finally: Like father, like son. (Dad's is on the left, mine is on the right)

CTS, yes. STS or DTS, hell no. Reminds me of my grandparents and their old Crown Victorias.

Eh, I kinda like 'em. And even though they have the same plasticky interior as most the Chevy's, they do have a certain style that's not bad. And they're dirt cheap to boot, especially the former Mary Kay cars that are repainted white when they're done with them. Those things are always perfect and about $5k less than a normal one.

Looks good, I actually like the DTS's. With a grill, a drop, and some rayums it would look pimp

Make sure you keep oil in that 4.6L and don't overheat it ever. Those Northstars have weak headgaskets.

Just because old people drive these cadillacs doesn't make them not cool! I love Devilles!

Tint will be the first thing I do to this.. And yes, I'm aware of the head gasket problems.. I've had a couple of these Devilles and I've come to find out that 2001 and older have the troubles.. 2002's and newer don't seem to have them that much. Plus the DTS has a completely different motor, it is the L37 Northstar V8 instead of the LD8 Northstar V8 that is in the Base and DHS package Devilles. The L37 has about 305hp where the LD8's have around 275. I've never come across a DTS that has head gasket problems as commonly as the Base/DHS Devilles.

The main reason they go out is because people don't let them warm up! I've seen people start em in dead of winter and just take off.. Stupid! Since I've had this one, I've let it run for at least 15 minutes before I take off in it. Better to be safe than sorry.

Plus I got this thing for a steal, I couldn't pass it up ;)

twack - It's pretty quick.. For a heavier car, it gets up and goes. And the motor is so strong even with 197xxx miles on it! Doesn't hiccup or stutter or anything!
hanson - what kind of caddy do you drive?

I drive an 05 CTS-V. But it looks like I might be selling it here in a few weeks. I really like the car and plan to pick up another one in the future.
