Crap, stranded on the side of the road today.
 

After realizing that this old thing is probably never going to be worth more than $5k on a good day, I decided to take out the GSX and flog the old girl a bit in the snow. Ran great and gets around pretty good on 8-year old junky all-seasons, but I knew something was wrong when the stereo quit and then my gauges starting going dim. Sure enough, the alternator gave up the ghost, luckily it was two miles from my house. I walked home in the cold and went back and picked it up when my wife got home. It was fun to drive and put some break-in miles on the new engine, but stupid things like the alternator pop up, which makes sense since I replaced almost everything on the car, mostly with used parts from wherever, so all in all, I guess it ain't too bad. She does go pretty good at 10psi with no tune, and the stereo is loud enough to shake my fillings out.

You could easily get $5k for that car, you must be getting crazy in your old age.

If u get a new one, get the galant one its 95 amp instead of 65 or 75.

i hate my alternator...im currently on my third and if goes again, i'm going to get the 90amp one instead of the 75 ones in dsms. >:(

Yeah, funny enough I was just PM'ing with a friend of mine on NABR that was talking about upgrading to the Galant alternator himself before this, I just told him I'll be upgrading as well.

Cleaned up and painted a bunch of stuff under the hood last night, looks a lot better. I also got my stealth FMIC painted dull black as well, can't wait to put that puppy back on and make some new IC piping. It looks awfully naked without it.

Well, I couldn't get $9k for it when it had all the big stuff, but I'm quickly realizing that I'm not really saving any money by downgrading to smaller stuff, making it the way I want is not cheap no matter what. I dropped $21 today at Brookdale Mitsu on two windshield washer nozzles. I want it to look really good when it's all finished, there's enough cobbled together ones out there.

Yeah, I was inspired a bit when I saw another old guy(two talons) like myself daily driving his in the winter.
