Wierd Misfires. 2g Tsi
Ok so i been having weird misfires ever since replacing my old T25. 157k, New plugs, 450cc injectors, stock SMIC+piping, 1g bov adapter+ bov, replaced front bank o2 sensor, old stock cat. converter... While im driving on the highway (without boost) ill have a misfire and a weird smell will fill the cockpit once an awhile, my car wont boost past 5psi sometimes without misfiring/fuel cutting but will sometimes hold at 8-9 on 3/4 throttle but never will allow me to WOT. EGR is blocked off and fuel pressure solinoid removed, but these things where still happening before I did the EGR mod. I haven't had a chance to boost leak again after a failed attempt with the cheap one I made before, but i couldn't imaging a boost leak limiting me to 5 PSI on such a simple setup?? This was never a problem until I replaced my turbo with a T28.
Things I plan on trying or possible issues/suggestions. I would like to Boost leak test again, Should I RTV the BOV gasket? Should I RTV the EGR block off gasket? Buy a new coil pack? I have a FIC injector seal kit I have and need to install... I have/waiting on FPR and install that... Would the injectors be bad? More or less I'm looking for more opinions so I'm not spending money on pointless things I dont need replaced..I've already dumped 2k on this car and its still stock, WOW. |
Re: Wierd Misfires. 2g Tsi
Update: 3 random misfires/bogs in the drive through while car was fully warmed up. thinking coil pack right now.

Re: Wierd Misfires. 2g Tsi
I have a coil pack for sale pulled from my car. Did you change wires? check gap? What brand of plugs?
I'd say wires if you haven't replaced them. |
