Hello my name Tyler I have only put a few posts on here. So I have been looking for a job for a while now. So today I finally got a job at a lil machine shop in Inver grove heights called Sampson performance engines he pretty much does everything there so just trying to help him get the word out. I don't know where else to post this but if anyone needs anything comment on here to pm me. And I can give you his number. :-D

Re: new machine shop
well I wasn't talking about simple decking blocks and heads, hell I've had carquest do that.
I'm talking about machining for a built motor, but we can forget about that here. |
Re: new machine shop
It's still the same, each of the aftermarket piston suppliers provide the proper piston-to-wall spec for their piston, and a little knowledge helps to know if you want to go beyond that for higher horsepower applications. But for 98% of those out there, the those specs are just fine and can be done by any competent machine shop. The real trick is in assembly, where I learned the hard way about ten years ago, that not all speed/machine shops can actually do that. And no, I'm not talking about any existing shops here, who all do fantastic work. This shop is long gone.
