Evo- 2.3 5857 E85, 30psi.
I know I'm not the only person who has been trying to find out information on this turbo so I figured that I would post it here.
I must say I'm super impressed, this isn't even the new 62 CEA wheel either. Copied post: Finally got my car on the dyno this past weekend. 5 hr drive down to Topspeed in Atlanta from Fort Campbell TN/KY area. Luckily my parents live in Atlanta so I had to place to sleep for a few hours and leave my pups occupied. previous numbers basic bolt ons and BC 272 93 oct 340/333 @ 23 psi bolt ons and shearer T3 kit 50trim 93 oct 403/340 @ 25 psi bolt ons and shearer T3 kit 50trim E85 498/421 (i think) @ 30 psi bolt ons and shearer T3 kit PTE5857 E85 533/424 @ 30 psi *the 22 psi run netted me 520/418 with the new setup The car: 2005 Evo 8 2.3L AMS kit ross pistons, oliver rods, OEM 4G64 crank BR stage 3 head kelford 272 BR ported intake manifold BR ported throttle body SpoolinUp COP PTE5857 .82 A/R STM FF manifold custom 3" exhaust custom 2.5" LICP ETS 2.5" UICP Tial BOV ETS 4" FMIC Hallman MBC double in-tank Walbro 255 ID2000 injectors E85 Shep trans 4.11FD AEM wideband ECU Flash JohnBradley aka Aaron@English Racing tuned car was tuned to 40 psi. The owner of Topspeed was a little scared to try to hit 40 psi right off the bat so we turned it down to 22 psi and worked our way back up. But for some reason, it did not want to hit 40 psi again. Would not go over 35 psi. So this is the 35 psi pull. Car hit 35 psi @ 4437 RPMs in 3rd and 3968 RPMs in 4th. Re: Evo- 2.3 5857 E85, 30psi.
Tuning/electrical, eh? :P Moving to turbo/engine/drivetrain.
So we going to talk about specific PTE 5857 setups? This is the turbo used in AMS's 750R kit IIRC. What is the CEA version of this turbo called? hollywood_X put one of these on his evoX and saw great gains up top over his fp black: http://www.evoxforums.com/forums/sho...highlight=750R http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m...RvsFPBLack.jpg |
Re: Evo- 2.3 5857 E85, 30psi.
Sorry about that.
The CEA version has the new 62mm turbine wheel so it would be the 5862, i believe a local should be running one this year. I always think this sized turbo is perfect for street duty whether 2.0 or 2.3/2.4 The only thing that worries me is the immense drop in TQ. Obviously I have no experience with these, it is just a inference from the dyno graphs vs. 3586 |
Re: Evo- 2.3 5857 E85, 30psi.
62mm turbine on a 58mm compressor....that's actually kinda hot! wonder how it would be real-world compared to a 6262.
This is good info, keep it coming. |
