Honeywell DualBoost turbos

Kinda neat, setup for small displacement though.

I like what they did on the turbine side more than anything else.

This is seriously bad ass. Hopefully this really catches on and is as effective as they think it will be. Hopefully they catch on a little better than the BW EFR turbos did. Seems like not that many people run them.

I see some OEM's take off with that technology. Smaller packaging, less time to torque=easier to sell "small displacement" cars/trucks.

I'll have to watch the whole thing when I get home, sounds cool though!

Nice find, that is a very interesting concept

I think most of the auto industry is going that direction. BMW, Mercedes and such are getting away from larger displacement V8's to smaller displacement turbo engines, same with Ford Explorers and a lot of others to increase gas mileage. And seeing another advancement in quicker spool is always a winner in my book.

Re: Honeywell DualBoost turbos

Damn that is awesome.
I'll take a 67mm please.

Re: Honeywell DualBoost turbos

Lol, so is a 67mm a 33.5mm since it's double sided? :D

Re: Honeywell DualBoost turbos

That is definitely interesting. I can't wait to see what people will apply this to, assuming it takes off.

Can't wait to (hopefully) see some in action.

Would this be like the ecoboost engines there running?

Re: Honeywell DualBoost turbos

^^ I'd assume so. Lots of the BMW, Mercedes and others are going with smaller displacement and turbocharged. Some of the high-end BMW's are V8 twin turbo. Same with a few Mercedes. Pretty cool for sure.

Wish we had more turbo diesel car options here like they have in Europe.

Re: Honeywell DualBoost turbos

It looks like the newer 6.7 powerstrokes already have these turbos.
