boost control
I'm going to be installing an electronic boost control solenoid so I can utilize the ECMlink v3 boost control feature. After doing some research I am still left with a few questions.
This is the solenoid I ordered: http://www.ecmtuning.com/product_inf...products_id=54 Do I need to install a MAP sensor to use the boost control feature? Seems to me like I would need to log some sort of MAP or boost sensor to run electronic boost control. Any advice/installation tips would be much appreciated. Thanks |
Re: boost control
I haven't done it, but I think you do need to run a MAP sensor, check the wiki for this info though it should all be there.

Re: boost control
If you don't use error correction then you can probably do it without a map sensor. It might be hard to tune and dial in though without some datalogged boost though. The DSMs and EVOs stock don't use a map sensor for ecu controlled boost control, they use calculated load instead, but DSMLink wants to work off a boost value. If you don't use error correction though, then it should just run the duty cycle you say.

Re: boost control
This page shows why you should use a MAP sensor:http://dsmlink.com/wiki/bcsoverview
But shane pretty much said everything you need to know. |
