What tool to use when installing keepers?

Hey guys, I need some help. Does anyone know what the best tool to use to get my keepers in on my 420a motor. I have the head off the block and just cant find the best thing to get the job done. Thanks, let me know!

Assuming they go on like a mitsu engine, then a valve spring comressor is what you need.

I know that, but i have gotten two different valve spring compressors, one wouldn't work because the head walls are to close the the valve spring to grab and compress it, the other reached around the entire head with one part resting on the bottom of the valve and the other side was ment to rest on the top of the spring and compress it, but the spring was to deep in the head for it to make contact with it and compress. Just trying to see if anyone has done keepers on the 420a head and know what compressor or what tool works best for the procedure.

You can make one easy enough with a big C clamp and grinding out a socket, then you weld it on the C clamp. Works like a charm! Downside is that this only works with the head off. The Snap On one is pretty slick for a top mount. You will probably get a lot better response on a neon forum, there are almost no 420a's on here.

I have a big c clamp on for heads off. And a snap on one for head on. Both work great
