Wideband E8 Issue MTX-L

Been having this issue for a while now. After driving for a little bit I get the e8 code on my MTX-L. Says to recalibrate or get a new sensor. I've tried 3 o2 sensors, recalibrating each time. Someone mentioned to update the firmware but I have yet to find an update available. If anyone has any info id love to hear it.

So I'm trying one more sensor tomorrow. I'm buying a Bosch LSU4.2 for a 2002 VW Jetta GLS. This is the same sensor Innovate uses with their widebands. O'Reilly has them for $51 which is the cheapest I found. If this doesn't work i'm stuck.

Where is the wideband placed in the exhaust?

stock rear o2 location. Front o2 reads a steady .92 volts during wot. Wideband jumps to 5.00 volts. I have no exhaust leaks.

Got a sensor and it seems to be better but still jumpy. Working on retuning atm.

I thought the wideband was supposed to be in the front location or closer to the turbo. Is it installed at an angle in the exhaust. I heard they act weird if there straight in. I know AEM in there directions say use the angled bung or sensor may not perform or work correctly.

the senson should be about a foot down the down pipe. I got really bad jumping readings when I had a exhaust leak between the turbo and the O2 housing.

Re: Wideband E8 Issue MTX-L

After doing some MAFComp adjustments this new sensor is working awesome.A little delay due to the fact it is in the rear o2 location, I will be moving it before the flex section in spring. On a side note, I was looking at the new Bosch sensor I got and I noticed that the new one had some kind of numbers on the sensor itself and the senor that came with my wideband from Innovate did not. Does Innovate use the real Bosch's or are they knock offs? It almost looked like a cheaper version of the sensor. Hopefully this one will last longer than a month.
Thanks guys!

The number is the correction factor needed to get a perfect reading. Your WBO2 sensor is too far back and it will make the heater run more and burn it out prematurely. 12-18" is the most common number out there, I like to get closer to the 18".

That makes sense. I will now be moving the sensor closer hopefully this week.
