Alarm keeps going off
my car alarm keeps going off every time I open my driver side door, both from the outside and inside. it just started doing this like 2 weeks ago, then stopped, but in the last couple days its happens everytime I open the door. The actual lock on the door became dislodged about a week after I bought the car, but I stuck it back in, so maybe I messed something up? Maybe theres a loose wire or something? If anyone can help please do! I drive a 95 talon tsi awd. thanks!

Do yourself a big favor and just cut the wires to the factory alarm. They are just pieces of shit. On my 95AWD I couldn't even arm mine because it would just go off at any moment, even if it was in a garage. My guess would be that your controller for the alarm is just messed up. Is there any other things weird happening with the electrical?

Oh yeah and if you want to disarm it, open your door and then pull the key out of the ignition, then lock the doors. You should then see the green security light come on in your dash. Then put the key in the ignition and turn it to the on position and the green light will go away. Then alarm is then not armed and will not go off no matter what. Thats what I had to do with mine.

I'll agree with you there I have to open my car from the passenger side if the security lite comes on. To disarm mine I have to pop the hatch open (with the key) |
There is a small switch on the back of the drivers door lock cylinder, snap it back on and problem solved. It should be white and about the size of a penny, with 3 wires coming out of it.You may have to rotate the center part to get it to fit back in right.

Oh yeah, in 2gs the alarm is part of the ETACS module. So cutting the wires to that is not possible, unless you want to lose the power locks, rear defroster, dome lights and various other things
