My car... Back together and running ;)
Well after limping it home from the Mitsu cookout in August I finally have her back up and running. I havent taken it out for a spin yet but I started it up yesterday.
After 4 months of working on several things on and off while school was taking most of my time I finished the major work. My problems all started back when I got off the freeway to the cookout and pushed in the clutch and it didnt feel right. I let it out and it lost about 2" of pressure. So after taking it home and working on it a little here and there and replacing Master and Slave Cylinders (which didnt work), I spent some time taking the tranny out and the clutch pedal assembly. Also my driver side balljoint decided to start clicking on me even though it was pretty much brand new and I found out that it seperated from where t was pushed in (so I bought a whole new control arm). GRRR Things I accomplished: -Removed/installed tranny -New: Fork/TO Bearing/Pivot ball -Had QPR weld my pedal assembly and replaced all plastic bushings (What a Bitch!) -Replaced driverside control arm and had to cut out the bushing so I could slid in my poly bushing from my old control arm. -Redid wiring under the dash to clean everything up (had a crapload of wiring due to alarm/keyless, logger, afc, all that other crap, stereo etc.) -Installed a ported/polished 20G. -Had my j-pipe/lower IC pipe modded to fit the 20G. -Had my SS O2 dump modded to fit a Tial 38mm. -Got rid of Cruise Control. -Redid under the hood wiring to clean things up. -Had my 2G exh manifold ported (collector). -Installed 660cc Injectors. -Installed a 4-Bolt Rear end. -Cleaned alot of crap from every nook and cranny I could find. -Removed firewall blanket to expose nice blue paint I will have to test drive it mostly in the spring as it is going to storage a few blocks away and thats the only driving it will see (insurance was taken off). Just want to say a BIG thanks to QPR especially Mike for dealing with all my crap!! Re: My car... Back together and running ;)
I might take it to the track if it feels nice. I dont think Ill be doing alot of racing, just some cruising and it will be my daily in the summer. I just want something fun to tool around in, the 20G should get me out of the 14s heh.

Re: My car... Back together and running ;)
nice and clean, man! you were'n't kidding about the wiring mess, though. be sure to put a fuse on that one (red wire) power lead coming off the battery!
My brother almost smoked all of his accessories/wires running through one of his grommets on the driver's side because the guy he bought the car from hadn't done exactly that. The wire grounded, and smoke/fire ensued! |
Re: My car... Back together and running ;)
Looks great Peter! Should be a bit more fun now. And of course you are welcome, I never mind working on nice rides.

Re: My car... Back together and running ;)
Yeah, a 20G should get you out of the 14's. I ran low 12's with mine for years, it's a good little street turbo. :-)

Re: My car... Back together and running ;)
Peter, Nash ran 11's on that turbo with less mods than you have :)

Re: My car... Back together and running ;)

Re: My car... Back together and running ;)
Clean. I'm not feelin' the red hoses one bit though. Just my .02

Re: My car... Back together and running ;)
Yea Im not really either, Ill prolly go back to black. Dont know what to do about that the red stands out too much and doesnt really match the anodizing.
