stock 2g turbo and bov psi question

I am curious how much psi the turbo throws and what the stock boc can hold psi wise since everyone says it leaks and the 1g holds 22psi I am curious what the 2 can handle

I would replace it if you were going to run anything higher than stock boost, the factory T25 cant hold much more than 14 till redline I think it actually drops quite a bit in the high end, maybe I am wrong, I didnt have mine long after I got a controller and gauge untill it died.

If you are looking for some cheap starter upgrades for your 2g send me a PM, I have some stuff I am upgrading from.

the stock 2g bov can hold around 14psi i think.

The stock 2g plastic BOV starts leaking after 15 psi. The T25 can hold can breath 18 psi but, its flowing hot air by then. It also starts to fade away after 5500 to 6k rpms.

I have tried three 2g BOVs. Not one of them held past 12 PSI. I mean shit you might be able to boost 15 PSI but that BOV is certainly leaking air out.

EDIT: BTW you can boost 15 PSI fine all day long on a T25. If boost drops down to like 12 PSI in the higher RPM's don't be surprised. You can try boosting higher but a lot of the time your slowin the car down.

Heh, yeah i was peaking kinda high on my t25 but it always dropped, and it died like a few weeks after i got my MBC. Just upgrade the BOV if you plan on modding. Same with the turbo

From personally experience with the 2g bov it is a piece of junk. Like said before it can only hold up to 12 psi if that. The engineering went way down for the BOV on the 2g. Now about the T too small. You can run xxpsi with it but the fact is it wont be effiencent above 13-14 psi. Once you raise it above the stock pressure it does nothing but blow hot air and basically poop out after 4.5K. I know for a fact my T25 set at 15psi would fall to 10 psi at about 5K in any gear but 5th. Definatly first mod for a 2g is a different turbo, intercooler piping, and BOV.

I'd say there are more important things to upgrade before those.

What are the more important things to upgrade then? If your bov cant hold more then 12 psi what is more important? I would think BOV and hard intercooler piping would go hand in hand. How are you going to make power with the T25. I guess I know nothing because BOV, piping and turbo were among some of my first upgrades along with an exhaust and filter.

Your first mod/s should be a 1G BOV and a KN air filter. Then once you have them in place you could use a MBC. And after that you will be broke for every because there is countless things to buy.

CRAIG

MBC, BOV, Air Filter, Exhaust.

Re: stock 2g turbo and bov psi question

in order: air filter, exhaust, 1g bov, boost gauge, then boost controller. You should have exhaust before you raise the boost. Most people decide not to but you should.

How are you going to raise the boost without a boost gauge???

You are not going to make power with a T25. That is the piont. You should choose the right upgrade path though. Not big turbo, ic piping, bov, airfilter, mbc, exhuast, boost gauge, etc. You are starting ass backwards.

Re: stock 2g turbo and bov psi question

Well now that I think about it that was the path I first took. Turbo was the last after exhaust and other things. I guess when your broke its not a good thing to buy the turbo first. Now I usually just buy everything together.
