i've seen this vid. its simply amazing how fast that car and driver go around the ring. passing up 911-TT cup cars like nothing on the straights. i believe that lap is the fastest ever for a GT class car.

is that gearbox sequential? i thought most sequential roadracing boxes always shifted when you pushed them in a certain direction. i.e. upshift = pull back, downshift = push forward. but i know domestic autos sometimes use those ratchet shifters in drag cars that shift with each push forward or each pull back.

*shrug* With the type of transmission in the video, I can't figure out how you would select to downshift rather than upshift as you'd be moving the lever in the same direction to do both.

Regardless, transmissions with straight cut gears still own me.
