Bent valves and high leakdown rates don't cause an imbalance situation. I'm thinking Mike's got it right here. Do the balance shaft elimination, you can get the parts from Brookdale Mitsu for about $45. If that's not it, you might have a severely imbalanced flywheel, but I've yet to ever see that. My money is on the balance shafts.
