The SAFC actaully works best on race gas at high boost. You usually don't have problems with it running too much timing from being in the wrong part of the maps, because your airflow is already way past the top fuel/timing row. Also, if you do have too much timing, the race gas can usually handle it.

On pump gas, you can run into a lot of the too much timing problems, especially if you are running injectors that are bigger than they really need to be.
