If you know it's running lean, then that would be the first thing to go after obviouslly. My car was running rich when I first went to E85. I compensated too much, and just like yours, it would flat out sputter and fall on it's face under any sort of boost. The number to aim for on E85 seems to be 12.0-12.5 from what I've gathered. From there, start adding timing instead of leaning it any further. How lean is he?
