Basically, and simply put, it's supposed to make everything have less friction, and more slippery I guess you could put it, so the oil drains back down into the pan from the head faster. I honestly don't see much of a benefit from doing this. I could see it holding in more heat and doing more harm than good. Only my opinion though, do whatever tickes ur winkle
