Also, regular boost leaks are your friend. When you do a lot of stuff to get a car ready, it's an easy thing to overlook!

I agree with not doing much to your car before a cruise or dyno day and make sure it's in tip top shape, but in this case, I think it's better that it blew up on the dyno rather than in the middle of some corn field halfway to Duluth.
