Re: how many of us converted to dsms from chevys..

I started out with an '87 Chevy Blazer that had a 2.8 v6 and a 4 speed. That thing topped out at about 80 mph, but it was so much fun to beat the hell out of.

Then I moved to a '95 S-10 4x4 that had the 4.3 v6. Some fuel line in the intake manifold (brilliant design GM...) ruptured and hydro-locked the engine less than 24 hours after I drove it off the lot and Friendly Chevrolet wouldn't do anything to help me, so it ended up costing me about $1200 to fix that. I had it for about 2 years and spent more on repairs over the two years than I paid for it, so I sold that and picked up a '93 Toyota Celica.

The Celica was a fun little car until some girl not paying attention made a left turn at a stop light in front of me when I had the green light, so I ended up T-boning her in the passenger rear door.

After the Celica, I bought a '95 Nissan 240sx. Probably the most fun car I've had aside from my DSM, and that's only cuz my DSM has more power. I ended up totaling that out because I hit a patch of black ice and rear-ended a minivan going about 40 mph.

At the same time I had the 240, I bought my first DSM, a '91 Talon that locked up the front balance shaft, stopped the oil pump and blew up about 3 weeks after I bought it. By the time I had it put back together, I already had my '92 gsx, so I just sold the Talon.
