A car I had back in the day would leak oil and coolant into the exhaust and had real low compression due to extended head bolts. I would pull them all out and measure them to make sure they are in spec.
I dont know off the top of my head how long they should be, but you can look it up in the factory service manual. After making sure they are all ok, torque the head back down exactly as shown in the FSM.
