Incorrect. Being fired because of being late, insubordination, unexcused absences, etc. is employee misconduct and you are ineligible for unemployment. If you file for unemployment after being fired for said reasons you can almost guarantee that the employer will appeal (because they pay unemployment insurance to the state), you will lose and you will have to pay back any unemployment you received.
