It's not that bad after you do it a few times. Sure it's no were near as easy as a DSM, but there are other engines that are a PITA to change plugs on (V8's, V10's and V12's in vans, trucks and other sports cars) as well. Thankfully, there are plugs that last 60-100,000 miles quite effectively now.
