Re: Why you should think twice before buying HKS products

I did some Googling and figured out who scorke is. He's an Ivey employee, named Sam Corke.

Quote:
Do you think an employee of a company would talk higher of the past company they worked with whilst talking with a customer of the current company they work with? Do you know why the people left TopSpeed, do you know if they were fire or if they quit, and if so what for? Not trying to attack but just trying to put it in perspective.

Which techs left TopSpeed for Forged, I know just about all the techs from both shops by name.

I sent my car to Forged Performance for the same reasons you did, word of mouth.... However what happens on the web is that people that sponsor the forums that you read and research these companies have the power ( i.e. vendor fees) to impact what information does and doesn't get to stick on online forums. This being the case you get a very narrow angle view of what actually goes on in the real outside of what you read, and sometimes that view is of a totally different perspective.

Facts I that I know are 100 percent true.
1. During the 9 months that my car was at Forged Performance two mechanics quit.
2. Sharif doesn't even know how to hook up a secondary fuel pump to a standalone ecu.
3. Forged Performance is not aware that a battery ground is not supposed to be attached to the chassis via a ziptie.
4. Sharif will not get on the phone to speak with you after spending 18k dollars on your car if you are unhappy about it.
5. Ryan( Ryan Doi the sales guy at forged) had a shop local to me ( CBRD Speedfactory) build his car and IveyTune (company whom I now work for) tune his car whilst he was an employee at Forged Performance. Now tell me why on earth would an employee of a "Tuning" shop have his personal car worked on at a shop in Pennysylvania and then tuned at a shop in New Jersey when they can do all this work in house? Maybe it's because they cannot do it in house.

It's not that I personally have something against forged performance it's just that I have experienced the shoddy work that they do first hand, and have also heard some of the nightmares of what went on from another member of this forum. How would you feel if you found loose bolts in between your spark-plug cover and head, or motor mount left loose, or grounds improperly connected when your car is returned to you via a trailer from a very well renowned tuning shop?

Now how would you feel if you just dropped near 20k on the service and parts...

Exactly.

Yes, I am rocking an evo.
