What do you think the EGTs should be? That is not out of the ordinarly high. Too high is over 900c, which is around 1650F. Your EGTs should be fairly hot at cruise. You usually run pretty lean at cruise, which is what you want for good gas mileage. If you are too lean at cruise, the car will sputter and buck. Your EGTs will go up at WOT under high load. If they shoot up too 1600F+ too fast then you are probably running too little timing due to the ECU retarding timing from knock. You could try richening it up, if it's knocking, which should keep it from running low timing and making the EGTs shoot up. Low timing causes high EGTs and in some cases boost creep.
