I agree, and Pat also gave up family as well as everyone else who has done the same. I think the biggest difference is those who have died before and will die after usually are in the situation as a choice they made when they joined the services. For someone who was already out of any special service obligation and was in a position to make millions and just give it up to go back in the mix isn't someone a normal us military guy might do.
Everyone in the services has my respect, and I don't give Pat anymore respect than anyone else who has fought our battles. I just think Pat situation is elevated not only due to his "celebrity/pro athlete" status, but for the situation he was put in and the choice that he made relevent to that status.
