it's just a way to pour yourself out to the universe of people on the interweb. I've had my 'blog' for about five years, and for me it started as a place I'd post about what i'd been up to while I was traveling europe. Saved me lots of time & money in phone calls telling several family members & friends the same story about how I got really drunk or got in a bar fight or whatever
