longer rod isn't the solution. the master cyl isnt pushing enough fluid thru the slave. have a buddy push the clutch in and you watch the slave. it should move 3/4 of an inch. putting a longer rod in wont really help it can acctually cause you more damage than anything. try replacing the old shitty rubber clkutch line with a solid one or steel braided line. then adjust your clutch peddal. also look at your clutch peddal assembly your clutch peddal after you release it should come flush with the brake peddal. if it doesnt then the bushing's on your peddal assembly are worn too far down also and thats a good 1/8 - 1/4 inch of travel you are loosing.
