something weird that could be useful.

Well i have upgraded to a scm61 with an external wastegate with 23psi spring inside.
Car = 158k longblock. mods to support 61.

The weird thing is the new turbo runs the exact same boost levels as the 16G, when i mean exact i mean move the boost graph to the right about 1200rpm and there is the new turbo, but it makes the same power.

Same spike, same dying off, well it only dies to 20-21, but then at 7k it starts to pick back up again.

I am waiting for the c-clamps on the comp. cover to arrive, i am gonna rtv, put on the clamps, if that doesn't fix my problem, i have no idea what will fix it.

(i figured something for the archives, if nothing else.)

Re: something weird that could be useful.

what's your point, exactly?
I would hope the power levels are higher, but yea, assuming nothing else is changed, i'd guess the same as you posted. power falling off and such.

Re: something weird that could be useful.

You either have a serious boost leak, or something like a bad lifter.

+1, something else is goofy I think man! Probably the boost leak like you said. Show us before/after dyno plots when you get time

I think you need a new flamidation valve.

Re: something weird that could be useful.

The car made 8hp more and lost a lot of tq.
drunk people that don't know anything don't bother posting.
I guess my point is that the car is at the same boost levels, but it didn't make more power.
i will continue this, its supposed to be more for archive use as its a weird problem that will hopefully be solved soon.

If it is for archive use, then you should post up a full description of the problem.
