clutch fork problems!!!!

today i got home about to drive up the drive way and SNAP!!!! clutch pedal went to the floor and stayed there! so i pick the pedal up off the floor, pop the hood and reach down to grab the clutch fork,,,, and sure enough i pulled half of the clutch fork out of the bell housing!!! It broke in half. This is the second time i had to take my tranny out because of these dam OEM forks!!! Does anyone now of any company that makes Custom forks or custom anything by that matter, I want a fork made out of something besides cast iron! Anyone have any ideas?

I have never had a problem with the stock forks. even with the one in the evo that I went after with a grinder to clear for the twin disk.

I know that TRE use to make aftermarket clutch forks

Any machine shop might charge you an arm and a leg to make ONE. Maybe tell MAP there is a need for these, maybe they could get them manufactured by that South Side Performance and Machine.

Typically the clutch fork isn't an issue. What pressure plate do you have? Slave cylinder? How is the input shaft sleeve? Throw out bearing?
I think something is causing quite a bit of stress on that fork to be having the problem.

We have seen this problem a few times before when the fork has been clearanced for the QM twin, you really have to make an effort to remove as little material as possible. We go as far as grinding off the protruding threads on the cover just so we can leave some more material on the fork...

I know Competition Clutch is very close to releasing their twin which does include a new clutch fork with clearance for a twin disc, I will see if I can get my hands on one for you AJ.

Yea, it's not a fork problem if you've broken two of them. Also, are these new ones? have you mega-shimmed the pivot ball or something? Do you have gorilla feet?

Taboo Speed Shop sells a billet clutch fork...

I snapped my clutch for in my talon with a 2600 PP, I had over adjusted the clutch pedal. Put a new stocker fork in, readjusted pedal and was fine ever since.

sweet thanks guys. and thanks chris if anything i'll have to grind off some of the bolts on the pressure plate and leave more material on the fork. But i did grind off as little material on my fork as possible. i have a stock mitsubishi fork, stock throw out bearing, and a stock slave cylinder with a quartermaster twin disk.

and i do have my master cylinder adjusted way out because i know that the quarter master doesn't need allot of force to release the clutch. and i don't have an extension rod on my slave cylinder.
