ARP Moly Lube - where to buy

Where's a good place to get ARP Moly Lube around Minneapolis? Is there a generic moly lube that will work as a replacement?

Thanks in advance.

I know summit has it but thats the only place I can find any. One of the sponsor venders might be able to hook you up with some.

Re: ARP Moly Lube - where to buy

I dont think the ARP moly lube is meant for assembly lube. Go get a tube of actual assembly lube "white grease" from NAPA or CarQuest.

No. ARP is more of a assembly lube. You use it with ARP bolts because that is what the torque values "supplied" are made with.
(sometimes when you get a torque spec it is assuming you are using arp moly lube, no lube at all (dry), 30W oil, etc).
There are lubes (like mentioned above) for pre-lubes. This shit would destroy your upper end if used in that form of an application.

Re: ARP Moly Lube - where to buy

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I need some sort of lube for 1 head stud. When I took the head off, one of the head bolts came entirely out, not the nut, te entire stud. So I need to put it back in but don't have any ARP lube around, so what can I use, and where can I get it? Thanks

Well I work in Shoreview, so maybe after work I could stop by and snag some. I work right off Hwy 96 and Lexington.

Re: ARP Moly Lube - where to buy

You are going to use it on the side that goes into the block? I am pretty sure you aren't supposed to use it on that side. I thought the directions said to only use it on the side where the nut is and to clean the holes in the block out so there is no oil in there.

Re: ARP Moly Lube - where to buy

Yea, the ARP Moly Lube goes on the washer, nut and threaded stud end that the nut goes on to. You don't put lube on the side that goes into the block. If anything, you would put loctite on the threads going into the block, but that isn't necessary.

Re: ARP Moly Lube - where to buy

Studs go in the block dry, with dry holes.
ARP lube on the washer, bottom of nut, and the stud that sticks out.

Re: ARP Moly Lube - where to buy

OK well I'm a dumbass then, i had put it on both sides before. But either way I guess I still need some for the nut side. I'll give you a call when I'm on my way out of work. I work at PaR Systems, right off Hwy96 and Lexington, and I get off at 3:30

Re: ARP Moly Lube - where to buy

Ok, from the ARP website, its ok to use oil in place of moly lube, you just need to tighten it differently....

I have a head that I need to bolt up to a block for a while and I have arp headstuds

unfortunately the washers are no where to be found? can I get some hard washers from ace? (same footprint as the nut)

and what is the foot poundage that I have to tighten them to? with 30w oil?
