Main Clutch hydralic line...

Well tonight i went to the mitsu dealer and picked up a new hard clutch line. I got it home and soon after trying to take out the current line, learned that theres no fucking way to get this line out without the engine out, even if I could it would be a shit load easier to just get all SS braided line so that its flexable. So that is solved.
Now heres the other thing... My car does not have a clutch dampner... Never has. Is this needed? What would getting one affect things? (in other words, what does the damn thing do?
Thanks guys,
TOm

Hmm, it runs along the firewall and the passenger inner fender, it shouldn't be that hard to take out. You don't need the dampener and the braided clutch line is usually only to replace the stock rubber one right over the tranny.

For reference, I swapped the front hardlines for converting my ABS system to non-ABS with the engine and everything in the car. That's more involved than the clutch line.

In a 2G It is hard to take it out. I took mine out but I had to cut it into small pieces to get it all out. I have the complete ss hardline in my car...http://www.slowboyracing.com/more.php?id=3886& It was really easy to install and you can put it wherever.

Yeah i just went to a local place that makes SS lines and had one made for $50. Im gonna return the $25 hard line from mitsu. With the time and effort saved by switching to the SS line, it made it all worth it. Shit it only took 10 minutes to put it in.
