519 AWHP- So far....
Finally got the old girl up to DB last night and got on the rollers. With Shane tickling the keyboard, we got her up to 519 AWHP with it breaking up a bit after about 3900 rpm. We gapped the plugs down a bit more and she was making a clean run until the lower IC coupler blew off again. It's such a tight corner out of the turbo to clear the front motor mount, there's no good way to keep it together at 30+ psi. So after we get an elbow welded on this week and I upgrade the upper pipe to a 3", we'll give her another go. The final couple passes were at about 32psi running straight E98 Ethanol and it was still about 85-90 degrees in the dyno room. The dyno curve is REAL nice, I love this combo for street/strip duty. Dyno sheet below.

Re: 519 AWHP- So far....
It seems to be a good setup. It might be in the 550awhp range when we are done with it. Torque is in the 460s. It hits 20psi in the 4300-4400RPM range on the dyno and is to 30psi at around 4700RPMs. It should have a long powerband like my car did with the 67.

Yep, doesn't D.D. read a tad lower than other dynos, or did I hear wrong?

Congrats, Steve! I think the last time I saw your car run was at Rock Falls when I tagged along with Carl a couple years ago.

Woo Woo! I got to witness some tire burning action after bee's last night. I saw this sweet looking 1G get on 55E in front of me. Steve showed me his dyno graph and I have to say that the 2.4L with the 3575 or t67 would be a kick ass way to go. His torque curve is long and flat! Looking good steve!

Congrats, how many miles on the 2.4?
Longevity of the 2.4 is the only thing that really worries me.
Can't wait to see what your final numbers/powercurve looks like.

Re: 519 AWHP- So far....
Yea, those are uncorrected DD AWD numbers, which are much much lower than Dynojet AWD numbers. From AWD cars that have dynoed here and on AWD Dynojets it takes about 18-20% to get to those numbers. So 519AWHP on ours might be around 612AWHP on a Dynojet AWD. To go from our dyno AWD to a DSM converted to FWD and run on a Dynojet is around 22% or so, or atleast thats the difference I saw with my wifes car.

Re: 519 AWHP- So far....
Whoot, good to see it's running again. I'm glad to hear the 3575/T67 turbos do so well on 2.4L engines. I hope my T67/P-trim gets me my goal of 600 AWDWHP.
Great work Steve. Did you try doubling up T-band clamps on that hose? What timing were you able to get out of it?

I have yet to see any real evidence that the 2.4L has longevity problems. Keep an honest rpm limit of 8500 and it should last as long as any 2.0L at 9000-10,000 rpm. I wind my 2.4L LR up to 8000-8500 and it just seems to love it. Marco (Magnus Motorsports) told me once about a guy that bought one of his long rod 2.4L engines spinning it up to 10,000+ rpm in Australia with no problems, but that might be where longevity could be an issue.
